When Madam Walker first developed a chemical to straighten the texture of african hair, was she buying into a concept that feeds into the ideology that what comes natural to people of african ancestory is unattractive and pave the way for psuedo european imitations in the form of weaves and wigs on black women? Would it not have been better for people of African ancestory to embrace what comes natural to them by learning to cultivate their hair in it’s natural state? That concept of beauty is so deeply rooted. Contemptuous, self denial is reflected in black women spending hundreds and thousands of dollars imitating the European hair texture rather than appreciating and cultivating their hair in it’s natural state. Madam C J walker was the first black woman millionaire to earn her money and that is certainly comendable. Was she more of a sell out than an entrepenuer? Did she mass produce more than a product selling hair straightener to black people to ‘tame’ what was natural to them?

And when i say black hair i dont mean the color. I have african american hair is what i mean. Im mixed. A while ago i cut all my hair off for charity and idk why but its hasnt grown back the way I thought it would so i just kept it short. I have been wearing braids since march and I want to switch it up. Whats some new hairstyles i should try? And advice would help. Thanks

ok i do my onw sewn in weaves and i was going to do a style wear there is a side part but i kinda on the broke side and the brandy hair wear i live is 20 a pack . i know most people need two packs but i dont know if i can get away with one pack of pro 10 brandy weaving hair.i have i dont have a big head at all do u think scince it a weave with a side part u think i can use just one pack?

I have been getting itchy eyes and rashes recently since wearing different weaves. It is so annoying cos I do hair modelling so I often need to wear extensions and weaves.

How can I get rid of this problem?

I have those days where i just don’t feel like doing my hair and i need some quick styles for medium short hair! (updos, weaves, ponytails, etc . . . )

Like if you have a straight hair weave could you use an curling iron or any other kinds to make different hair styles.
It would be 100% human hair.
