Hair Help! I need some cute hairstyles?

I have long (midway down my back) black, sorta wavy, sorta straight hair that’s very thick. I want some cute hairstyles for the coming school year. I already overuse half-ponytails, a side braid, ponytails and a side ponytail. I need some new styles to try, that don’t take long, and I don’t need to straighten or curl my hair for. thanks!

Hair Relaxer – The Different Types?

I have very thick, very curly, very kinky "white girl hair." Please, no suggestions on what products I should use, because I’ve tried very thing, and a mixture of anything. Nothing is designed for my hair. My hair is not dry, either, but tends to be stripped of natrual hair oils easily. It’s rarely frizzy, but just has a lot of volume and texture (you can sort of see that in my icon) to it which is what I’m trying to get rid of by doing this relaxer.

I went into a Regis hair salon to ask about their relaxers, but the lady said that they do not offer chemical relaxers for my type of hair because it is too strong (I’ve had a chemical relaxer done to my hair by a professional in the past, and it did absolutly NOTHING to my hair) but instead they use something she called a "de-curler" or "hair de-stresser" or something to that degree. I was wondering if anybody knew the name of this type of relaxer?
Like I said, I’ve already tried the methods listed below. It’s a no go – it may tame the curl itself, but it will not tame the "kink" in them, which is why I cannot blow dry and cannot striaghten with an iron. And even when I do blow dry with a diffuser, my hair still expands out, not as a result of frizz but due to it’s thickness. I would LOVE to have stick straight hair!

I just want to know what type of relaxer is called a "de-curler" or "Hair de-stresser."

Videos:This lady does her daughter’s hair all the time and most of the styles are braided.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkUo6JQud_o&feature=related

She is mixed race yet she looks white but she still looks beautiful in braids.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMN7pIazPhA&feature=related

Her hairstyles for her daughter are cute.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kAoh_wRtz8&feature=channel_video_title.I think braids on any race are beautiful depending on the way it’s done and the way it’s made.Colorful beads looks kinda messy.I am by no means a racist so don’t even call me one.
How is straight hair better.I see girls who kill for curly hair because their hair is naturally straight and vice versa.I love my hair it’s straight and curly at the roots whether i get a perm or not.
Thanks black chick and moomoo!

are you a hair weaving stylist in the dmv area?

Im looking for a hair stylist that can put in some natural looking weave in my hair. im goin on a trip in the beginning of june so i want my hair to last a while.i already have the hair and just want a simple straight hair and front bang. i dont want it to look like a wig.

please let me know ur price, THANX!

What good full head hair weave brand should I use?

I’m a teenager with shoulder length wavy/very curly blond hair. My hair is unmanageable and I’d like to get a full head weave. At first I wanted to get a relaxer but I didn’t to extremely damage my hair. I really like the Bohyme silky straight hair (16") and I was wondering how many other brands are just as good but a lesser price. Or a more affordable bohyme realter. I live in Canada if that helps!
Thanks!!!

Has any other young black men been harrased by their mom to get a haircut?

Are you a young adult male and have been harrased by your mom to get a haircut?
I am a 22 year old black male.

I wear my hair in a short afro and it looks very neat when i comb it.

However everytime my hair grows into a short afro my mom wants me to cut my hair.

Why are african american people so against young black guys like me wearing an afro and want us to get our hair cut down very low so it wont be in an afro?

My mom is getting on my last nerves, my mom need to stop telling me what to do with my hair im 22 years old not 12 years old.

Im a grown man and I dont need mom telling me what to do with my hair or my life. If my mom dont like my hair and my hairstyle that’s her problem because I am not going to get a low haircut or a clean haircut and shave off my facial haqir to please her.

I cant understand why older black women like my mom has such a problem with young men like me wearing a full head of hair and facial hair.

I have to live with my mom because I cant find a job. I fill out applications and turn them in and never get called in for an interview at all the places I apply at.

I also forget to mention that many African american people also have a problem with young black guys like me wearing braids or dreadlocks.

What i have noticed is that many African american woman refuse to wear natural Afrocentric hairstyles and will get a perm or press their hair to get a Eurocentric hairstyle, and they dont want their black men like their sons to wear Afrocentric hairstyles like an afro, braids or dreadlocks, and instead many black women want their sons to wear low haircuts or bald haircuts even when their son is grown.

Some black men have a problem with other black men wearing afrocentric hairstyles like afros , braids and dreads.

The equation is if you a black man and you dont have good straight hair you need to cut it all off and wear a very low haircut or a bald head.

A question about white women and hairstyles?

I don’t want to sound ignorant or rude in any way but I’m just curious! It feels like every other black woman i see has a different hairstyle. from braids to straight hair, to even a few crazy styles i’ve never seen. why is it that the majority of white women i see usually just wear their hair in one style: down? why is it that the majority doesn’t wear lots of different hairstyles like us? is it because the texture of your hair? when yall go get yall hair styled, how long does the style last? and what’s a typical ‘style’ if yall do get yall hair done?

i’ve seen some white women with dull, shaggy looking hair, but i’ve also seen some with shiny, freshly trimmed hair. is that a style? help, i don’t get it! i’m just curious. please excuse my ‘yall’, i’m from south.
