Black Hair Care Products !?

I’m a Black female with long hair. It’s 3 inches above my backside. I always get the stupid "What are you mixed with" question, lol. & the answer is black and more black!. Lately I have been leaving it out and people have been running their hands through it but for some reason it’s been feeling dry and I’m starting to get split ends. I usually do my hair myself and I cut it every week, but I know I need to do something else with it & with work and school it’s usually put up in a bun like my avatar. So any tips? On managing split ends and dealing with dry hair? Any good Black Hair Care or good hair care products out there?

Any tips?

BTW, I use Dr. Miracles, Castor Oil and Carrot Oil.

why are the majority of black haircare products filled with ingredients that are proven to stunt hair growth?

or are told to be used in the wrong way

example: mineral oil and petroleum are the base in many black hair care products, mineral oil is not natural it does not penetrate the hair shaft and it sits on the scalp, collects dirt and clogs pores, stopping hair growth. yet on many products that contain it, it says to put in hair and on scalp. products with mineral oil are also told they moisturize or condition which is a complete lie since oils do not bring moisture to your hair they seal it in, its in lots of products like hair grease, hair lotions waxes..

Isopropyl Alcohol: Dries and Breaks black hair. It is found in color rinses, anti-freeze

Polyethylene Glycol (PEG): Strips hair of critical moisture. Used as an emulsifier in products, dissolves oils and grease

i was mainly asking this to other blacks and also letting them know what ingredients to stay away from, but thanks for your input, i realize white people are ignorant when it comes to black hair issues

Black women: Why are black hair products in the "ethnic" aisle at the stores?

I never understood this, why the stores do not just put all the hair care products in the same aisle. Why is there a "white person" aisle for products, then usually the next row over is "ethnic aka black" aisle?
No lovely bunny, I am just a father who takes his girls shopping.

my hair is super thin and wavy/curly. It wont stay straight even with a flat iron. Why wont it stay straight?

I also got the bio ionc hair straightening process, and it didnt work. When i straighten it it will stay straight about 30 mins. then the ends flip and it gets all frizzy. i use hair care products and anything!! any home remedys or tips to keep it straight you know of?!

Can black people use "white" hair products?

I am an african american albino with curly hair. I wouldn’t consider ti coarse or nappy or anything like that, it’s just spiral curly and I’m just wondering if I can use what others consider "white" hair care products, such as Pantene, Garnier Fructis, Herbal Essence, Aussie? Or would those not work for my hair because my mother seems to think it won’t. Thanks for future answers! :)

Isn't it funny when whites think they can't use black hair care products…when?

blacks have been using white hair care products before black hair care products were even thought of..

I think this is funny how terribly racist these people are, yet claim that they are not..what is even more crazy is that non-whites(mostly black) don’t think these people are racist..

The only difference is hair products is the level of moisturizer…if you have dry hair(no matter what type of hair you have) a moisturizing product will work best.

Black teen interested in trying out the Wen hair care product?

Currently, my hair is permed and flat, but due to heavy rain from going outside to go to school because it looked cloudy but didn’t start raining until the instant the bus was there, so I had to walk to school with rain pouring down on my head, the results leading in with exposed split ends and slight frizz.

I have heard from a televised Wen hair care products infomercial that it could enhance my hair’s appearance by making it shine, silky, etc. I obviously took interest.

So, what should I do? Try Wen or something else?

Has anyone experienced hair growth with sunsilk products?

I’m asking because I have always had soft wavy textured hair and I’m currently trying to grow it out just started using Sunsilk’s Hydra TLC line of hair care products to keep my hair soft.

I would like to know if anyone black or white or native american has used any Sunsilk products for an extended period of time and experienced hair growth.

If so how long was it before you noticed?

Hair products?

Does anyone know of any great non-expensive hair care products for blacks(not always the most expensive is the best). Because at the moment I have relaxed hair, a short hair cut I’ve been trying growing out and my hair is limp with no body(cause I recently got it relaxed). Any suggestions.
Also I use to use motions it was okay for a while.

Also as a side note: does anyone know of any great websites I could find hairstyling tips for people with short haircuts growing out their hair.
