Do you need a license to do hair weaves only?

I would like to do hair weaves only. I am not interested in doing roller sets or any other thing….I just want to do sew-in weaves. Do I need a license?

If you were to work in a beauty shop, yes you would definitely have a license . If you’re just doing the weaving in your horme, then I would think not.l

any time you work in a salon on clients, for money, you need a license….but…in some states you can work towards your license, in a salon, as an apprentice to a stylist who already has a license. There are state by state guidelines for this. Contact your state board of barbering and cosmetology.
